Intentionally Make Your Seconds on Earth Count

The world has become a nest for evil in a way that if we (Christians) do not consciously and intentionally put God in our daily activities, the enemy will keep influencing or having a grasp on us. Nowhere seems safe, it is either one bad news on TV, porn on the internet, movies portraying all sort of intentionally absurd scenes, billboards and adverts portraying nudity, even cartoons nowadays are not safe, just to name a few. No wonder 1 Peter 5:8 says ”Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour”. At every point in your life you need to be aware that the enemy is looking for a single gap or thought to attack.

I understand that we are very busy fulfilling purpose, but hey! do not fulfil purpose and forget about The Giver of the purpose because you can fulfil purpose and not be a friend of God. Luke 18:1 says “men ought always to pray and not to faint” . Thus it might be challenging to balance your walk with God amidst work, kids, your spouse, friends, family etc. and most at times after satisfying all these stakeholders of your life, you feel exhausted and you fall at sleep and boom! it is morning and you get on the routine all over again . It is therefore expedient that intentionally putting God in your daily program is not an option but a necessity.

My dear, we behave and become what we often hear and see, therefore, make it a habit to always play a message or gospel song anytime you are doing chores, walking or driving. For example, when I am cooking, I am either listening to a gospel message, gospel song, praying, listening to a professional talk for my career, learning new cooking recipes etc. There is no second to waste, how can you finish mopping, cleaning dishes, cooking, doing laundry etc. without learning anything?. When do you think you will have the time? Is it when you will be at work trying to finish the task of the day? Oh no! wake up and make your seconds matter.

With an earphone, even on the job when you have a break you can listen to a teaching to improve any part of your life

Of Course, this write up doesn’t include the special time you have allocated for your meditation with God. I hope we all know we need to daily spend time with God, anyway, we will do another article handling this area. In this post we are tackling the seconds you have which are not ”your allocated meditation times”. Do you know that if each time you are home or walking and you are listening to something ‘kingdomly’ useful, you won’t have time for evil thoughts, sin, gossip, anger etc. Consciously/unconsciously you will become filled with a positive fragrance which people will wonder and marvel about your peculiarity.

Also, the time you are wasting doing nothing is the time for you to create content for the world to consume. If the devil is moving looking for who to devour let us Christians move looking for whom to safe. Your ideas and projects should not remain in your head. If God has called you in to music please obey and sing the sound songs we will listen to, write the books we will read, act the decent movies we will watch etc. When you are not obeying and fulfilling who God called you to be, you are robbing the world of a unique product God sent to meet the world’s needs. Together let us be intentional about living a Godly purpose driven life, having in mind Ephesians 5:16 ‘‘Making the best use of the time, because the days are evil’‘.

So do not forget to make every second count. Be intentional about your life for we don’t know the time or hour we will exit this world. Ensure to leave a positive legacy when you are no more on earth.
