Love Yourself

I have come to realize that many people live a life defined by others. From childhood, while growing up until now they are still operating in the shadow image of themselves painted by others.

Please tell me, what were you told about yourself? In what conditions did you grow up? Were you told that you are too thin, fat, short, tall, dark, fair or body shamed? Did they say you are a failure, a disgrace and that nothing good can come out of you? Did they compare you with your friends or siblings who seemingly looked better than you? Did they make you feel like you have no talent nor purpose?. These reasons and more might have played a great deal in making you feel undeserving or made you develop a low self esteem consequently making you think or deceive yourself that you are a shy or quiet person. No matter how sincerely you are being appreciated for something you have done excellently, you always have this feeling that they are just deceiving you because you always feel less in everything.

My dear, if only you knew who you are, you won’t joke with yourself. Let me remind you of Genesis 1:27 ”So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”. God was intentional when creating you and He said you are good that is why He has already predestined you before you came on earth so let no one tell you otherwise. You are unique and fearfully made. He says you are a royal priesthood, wow!!! do you know what that means, oh Lord!, this means you are royalty and you are here clothing yourself with sack cloths, covering the royal cloth the Lord created you with.

Let us reason together, if a lamp is lit and placed under a bed, people won’t see the light not because it’s not shining but because the bed is covering it’s light. Therefore take up the bed and behold! the light is shining. At times our problems come from within, our freedom is handcuffed with our negative imaginations from what we have heard about ourselves. Let no one define you no matter who that person is.

When last did you worship God and he called you by name and told you sweet things. What name does God call you in the secret place, personally Queen Mother is one of the names the Lord calls me especially when he wants to remind me about who I am and my purpose on earth. Do you think after such an amazing time with God I can be moved by what people say? When the Lord reminds you of your beauty and worth, trust me nothing they say can move you because our creator has the final say. When last did you look at the mirror and appreciated the creation of God in that mirror, yet all you do is to complain how you would have rather wanted to be like this or that. Be grateful for your uniqueness, fact is most of those people making a mockery out of you are longing deep inside to be like you so the best way to express their frustration is to insult you and sadly, you are letting it get a better grip of you.

Arise and shine and become that person God made you to be. Have faith in God and yourself, stop imitating people and living their lives instead of fulfilling your purpose on earth. Stop living a lie and a fake life trying to impress others, be yourself and God will announce you. Take care of yourself physically and why not take yourself on dates and getaways for a “me time”. Don’t waste the remaining part of your life continuously living in the shoes of another person. Haven’t you discovered that it is difficult living a lie? My dear feel free and be yourself, those who can’t accept whom God made you to be are not necessary in your ladder of growth. Not everyone can be your friend so from this moment love, pamper and appreciate the image of God (YOU).
